Shall I sell my house on the web or pay the estate agent?

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Okay so I want to sell my house but how do I go about it?

The traditional way to sell my house would be to approach an Estate agent and have them to advertise my property. This will probably encompass an advert in the areas paper, a picture in the window of the estate agents shop, a for sale sign and an estate agent to show the possible buyer round your house for sale, oh! And of course a large piece of commission off the profit you would have got from the sale of your home.

The other way of course is to contact a professional business on the web and let them put all of your homes details and specs, including pictures to a huge market for a set price and still have a billboard out in your front garden.

So when I decided to sell my house I used the an online service to do the promotion for me this gave me the opportunity to have a lot more control and actually know that the sum I was spending out had some kind of impact rather than going to pay somebody else?s wages. I cant remember the exact value but I think that estate agents prices are something like 2 % which is several thousand pounds instead of about one hundred pounds for an expert service without the fuss and stress. It also means that you can post up details as and when you want and if you decide to alter the value of your property you can alter it when you like.

The new Home Direct lending and the current position of the housing market.

Monday, September 8th, 2008

With large building companies going out of business and the state of the housing market looking worse and worse. The market doesn?t look nice. Friends of mine keep on telling me I want to ? sell my house? but are not sure whether to, due to poor equity. For myself I would like the opportunity to get onto the housing market in the start. The new loans and tax breaks that have been placed on the market aren?t really flexible enough to entice me into purchasing a property, with the only homes available being new builds which frankly a lot of the time look like little boxes with very little space, is this just another attempt for the government to reach target. The fundamentals are developers basically want to knock out as many buildings as quickly as they can for the least quantity of cash on the least amount of space. People need an area that they are investing their cash into for their personal benefit, somewhere they aren?t over looked and where they feel they can get out into their garden into their own space. The stamp duty lifting to ?175,000 is the thing that should have been done years ago rather than the appeasement policy for the little people it appears to be, that is only going to last for a short period of time. Most people can?t save for a mortgage because they are don?t have the spare funds and although we get studies that the average wage is a certain amount it has no relation to the low amount most of us earn.

Dodging the house selling costs and finding help along the way.

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Alright, so you are thinking how am I going to sell my house, you have the ideas in your mind of the perfect home you are trying to get but how do I sell my house and avoid all of those extra fees|When you are thinking about the ideal home or perfect house. Then comes the frustrating question of how can I sell my house. Don?t be mistaken I know I?m in a privileged situation to already own my house but the prices incurred to sell my house through an estate agent is huge.

Fortunately I was browsing the internet looking for houses to purchase online and stumbled across an excellent website that let me to put up images and descriptions about my home with dimensions. I was also able to get advice on home staging (simply means making your house look nice for people when they step through the door, and help them into a purchasing frenzy) and all of the other things you could possibly want to sell your home on the internet.

The brilliant thing about the site was that you could even get your personal for sale sign in front of your house with a telephone number on it that puts your call through to any telephone number you want it to. We took up there services and they were extremely helpful, talking us through any queries that we might have and helping direct us in the right direction for other aspects of the sale.
