Asthma and Air Conditioning

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Many people are asthmatic now a days and this could be attributed to having carpets rather than floor tiles or hardwood oak flooring and other home improvements like central heating.  This is because these types of electrical appliances and home comforts not only make a comfortable environment for a house owner they’re also nice for dust mites.  Pollutants like car fumes and other allergens like pollen and dust mite droppings in the atmosphere trigger asthma.

Air purifiers can help asthmatics and their condition because they remove allergens from the air in a small space.  Fine pet hairs, pollen and other allergens are filtered from the air to help reduce asthmatic reactions.  You will find that air purifiers will work well but the environment they’re in has to be frequently cleaned with good ventilation to have any real effect.

Domestic Air Conditioning

Most people know air conditioning is more commonly found in airplane and environments that need stable conditions like server room air conditioning.  Research has shown that domestic air conditioning allows asthmatics to regulate their environment and improve their condition.  Domestic air conditioning significantly lowers the amount of dust mites and mould spores because it lowers the humidity.  Air con units can cost a lot to fix but as long as you have frequent air conditioning maintenance they should be ok.  Those of you that have asthma should find air conditioning installers in your area and replace carpets with marble tiles as it can improve your health dramatically
